Finally Understand Your Numbers —
and Use Them to Make Confident Decisions
Financial clarity & cash flow insight when decisions matter most.
Built by operators with real financial responsibility
Decision-grade management financials — clean, timely numbers built for real operating decisions and CPA alignment.
Management financials built for running the business — separate from tax, payroll, or compliance.
This isn't Outsourced Accounting
We maintain decision-grade management financials and use them to support better operating decisions.
Tax, payroll, and compliance remain with your CPA.
The Problem isn't the Books.
It's the Lack of Clarity.
Most businesses don’t struggle because the numbers don’t exist.
They struggle because the numbers don’t arrive when decisions are being made — or don’t explain what matters most.
Reports show what happened.
They don’t show what’s coming, what’s at risk, or what to do next.
As a result:
-
Cash feels unpredictable
-
Trade-offs aren’t clear
-
Important decisions get delayed, second-guessed, or made on instinct
That’s not a bookkeeping issue.
It is a financial leadership gap.

How We Think
How We Think About Finance
Financials should exist to support decisions — not to satisfy process, software, or tradition.
Our approach is grounded in a few simple principles that guide how we structure information, evaluate risk, and support leadership decisions.
Cash Comes First
Profit explains performance.
Cash determines survival and flexibility.
We focus on timing, obligations, and trade-offs so leaders understand what’s coming - not just what already happened.
Forward, Not Backward
Historical reports are the starting point — not the answer.
We prioritize visibility into what’s ahead, where pressure may surface, and which decisions need to be made before urgency takes over.
Decision Ready Information
Every number should answer a question:
-
What does this change?
-
What’s at risk?
-
What decision does this support?
If information doesn’t lead to action, it’s noise.
Simple by Design
Complexity doesn’t equal sophistication.
We aim for financial clarity that leaders can understand quickly, explain confidently, and use consistently — without needing translation.
Why This Matters
When financials are clear, timely, and decision-ready:
-
Cash stops feeling unpredictable
-
Trade-offs become visible
-
Decisions get made earlier — and with confidence
That’s the difference between reporting numbers and leading with them.
Experience That Shapes Decisions
Our work is shaped by real operating responsibility — not theory or templates. These are the situations we’re most often brought into.
Cash Flow & Near-Term Visibility
When timing matters more than totals
Designing cash flow visibility that shows what's coming - not just what already happened. Often anchored around rolling 13-week forecasts to surface risk and trade-offs early.
Reporting Cadence & Decision -Ready KPIs
From lagging reports to clear signals
Simplifying the close processes and reporting so leadership teams overseeing multi-million dollar P&Ls receive timely financials and a small set of KPIs directly tied to decisions - not noise.
Revenue & Profitability Insight
Knowing what actually drives returns
Helping leadership understand which products, customers, or activities create value - and which quietly drain it - so decisions around pricing, focus and investment are grounded in reality
Financial Leadership During Transition
Growth, pressure, or increased scrutiny
Providing senior financial oversight during periods of change - including growth, leadership transitions, or preparation for heightened external review
Case Studies
Regaining Cash Control Before Pressure Sets In
For a profitable business tight on cash
Situation:
A profitable, owner-led business with strong revenue but high working capital sensitivity was consistently tight on cash.
Problem:
Cash timing across collections, vendor payments, and fixed obligations was misaligned. Leadership lacked near-term visibility, forcing reactive decisions — often too late.
What We Did:
Built a rolling 13-week cash forecast focused on collection timing, fixed cost obligations, and decision trade-offs. Reset reporting away from backward-looking profit toward near-term cash visibility and decision-ready KPIs.
Outcome:
Leadership gained a clear cash runway and early warning signals. Hiring, spending, and vendor decisions moved from reactive to intentional — before pressure set in.
A Financial Narrative
Leadership Can Stand Behind
For growing companies facing scrutiny
Situation
A growing, owner-led business faced increasing complexity and external scrutiny as operations scaled.
Problem
Financial reporting was inconsistent and slow, making it difficult for leadership to explain performance, assess trade-offs, or confidently stand behind decisions.
What We Did
Established a disciplined reporting cadence, clarified key performance drivers, and rebuilt financial reporting to align with how the business actually operated.
Outcome
Leadership gained a clear, defensible financial narrative. Decisions were made with confidence, and discussions shifted from explanation to execution.
From Reporting Lag
to Decision-Ready Financials
For operators making decisions with incomplete information
Situation
A multi-location business struggled to understand performance due to slow, inconsistent financial reporting.
Problem
Reporting lag exceeded 45 days, leaving leadership reliant on outdated information. Decisions were made without timely insight into performance, trends, or emerging issues.
What We Did
Redesigned the close and reporting process, clarified ownership across the finance function, and focused reporting on a small set of decision-critical metrics.
Outcome
Reporting timelines were reduced from weeks to days. Leadership gained timely visibility and the ability to act while decisions still mattered.
How We Start
Financial Clarity & Cash Flow Review

They need a clear view of cash, risk, and the decisions ahead.
That’s why every engagement starts with a focused review designed to answer one question:

You will leave with a clear cash view, priority decisions, and a short list of actions leadership can take immediately.

Scope & Focus
R5 focuses on financial clarity, cash flow insight, and decision support.
We do not provide tax preparation, payroll processing, or compliance accounting services.
These areas are best handled by a client’s CPA or payroll provider. Our work is designed to complement existing accounting and tax relationships — not replace them.
Working Alongside CPAs
R5 Advisory Group frequently works alongside CPAs when clients need financial clarity beyond compliance and reporting.
Our role is advisory-focused. We help leadership teams understand cash flow, risk, and near-term decision trade-offs using the financial information already available.
For CPA-referred clients, R5 limits its work to the agreed advisory scope and does not provide ongoing bookkeeping or accounting services without coordination and consent from the referring CPA.
